My Grown Up & Me Music & Rhythm

Be prepared to sing, say, move, play and create as we explore elemental music making! A wonderfully fun way to experience basic music concepts and classroom expectations with the safety and partnership of a trusted loved one. We share activities that foster a love of music and build musical confidence along the way. There will be a strong connection between music, movement and the art of play!
Music and Rhythm Exploration
Ages 6-7

Students will sing songs, play instruments, and dance folk dances to help build confidence, social skills, and musicality through musical play. This class is offered to students ages 3-5 and 6-7.
Strumbrella Appalachian Youth String Ensemble
Students Grade 4-12 Welcome!

This is a learning ensemble focusing on traditional Appalachian music, story, and dance. Students will learn the historical background of Appalachian culture through playing instruments, singing/writing songs and poetry, and dancing traditional folk dances like square, contra, and flatfoot. Students do not need experience to join! Instruments available for loan. Students are welcome to bring their own acoustic Appalachian string instrument if they would like.
